Military Assets

Northwest Florida is home to six Air Force and Navy installations. Department of Defense expenditures in the region exceeded $9 billion. Defense activities generated an estimated 194,847 jobs and accounted for over $22 billion of the region’s economy in 2020. Since several of the installations are aviation-focused, Northwest Florida has a growing cluster of aerospace and defense-related enterprises. This includes companies involved in the production of civilian and military aircraft, components, and related equipment, as well as spacecraft and guided missile systems and closely related industries, such as the production of instrumentation and measurement equipment.
